Nearly 50% of Americans don’t trust their tap water. Jonathan Medeiros of Veolia North America is working to change that.

As Assistant Chief Operator for the Chatham Water Department, Jonathan helps ensure water is safe, reliable—and trusted. His team is building community confidence through plant tours, interactive newsletters, and regular surveys.

Research shows that when utilities communicate often, trust rises. Utilities like DC Water are leading with nearly 200 community events a year—Jonathan’s aiming to bring that same model home.

He challenges other utilities to engage, educate, and help restore trust in public drinking water.

Jonathan was a participant in the Transformative Water Leadership Academy of the American Water Works Association and WaterNow Alliance.

This was a conversation at the Reservoir Center for Water Solutions in Washington, D.C.
