Hotel Reflects Greenville's History With Mississippi

Hotel 27 is part of the water history of Greenville, Mississippi.

It previously housed the Mississippi Levee Board and is named for the 1927 flood that devastated the town. President Herbert Hoover and other officials met in the building as part of the national response to the flood.

Today a giant levee guards Hotel 27 from the nearby Mississippi.

Now Greenville aims to build resilience to flooding of locations like the hotel with nature based solutions.

The Mississippi By Nature series is supported by Walton Family Foundation and outfitted by Patagonia.
