A supplier brought into a water infrastructure project early can help determine whether its budget, schedule, and materials remain viable years later.
Kelly Farace, senior manager of national accounts at Core & Main and communications committee chair for the Water Collaborative Delivery Association, says suppliers can contribute market insight, greater cost certainty, and information about material stability during planning.
That matters because major water projects can have long development timelines. Early conversations give the project team more time to identify supply risks, evaluate costs, and adjust decisions before procurement or construction exposes a problem.
Suppliers can also bring practical knowledge about specifications, material management, and product availability. When that information reaches owners, engineers, and contractors early, it can strengthen the plan rather than force a late redesign.
Farace says the lasting measure of collaborative delivery is often not the finished project alone. It is the partnerships and trust that helped the team navigate conflict and overcome unexpected headwinds.
