Pittsburgh’s Point marks the convergence of the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio rivers.

These waterways once fueled the city’s steel empire. They carried commerce deep into America’s heartland. Today, they sustain 30 million people downstream. Smokestacks have given way to waterfront parks. Water-focused recreation now thrives.

Over 440 bridges, more than anywhere else globally, span these rivers and connect communities. The Ohio River flows past Cincinnati and Louisville, joining the Mississippi.

For all these reasons and more, Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers is one of the most iconic locations in America’s waterscape.
