💧 H2O INTRO 🤝 Meet Jonathan Altenberg of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative
Access to clean, safe water shouldn’t depend on the size of a city’s budget.
Jonathan Altenberg leads a coalition of more than 250 U.S. and Canadian cities working together to address water equity, coastal resilience, and infrastructure needs across the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River Basin.
Recognizing that many communities—especially small or underserved ones—lack the resources to apply for federal funding, his team created the RCPI program to help with grant support, lead line replacement, and flooding challenges.
They also offer the Daley Water Equity Award and Turtle Island Award to uplift communities driving equitable water progress.
It’s a regional model of collaboration, innovation, and impact—working to make sure no community is left behind.
