Welcome to the future of San Diego’s drinking water.
This is the construction site for the massive Pure Water project, which will recycle 83 million gallons of wastewater into drinking water every day by 2035.
Pure Water San Diego will supply half of the city's drinking water, securing a resilient local source as other supplies like the Colorado River are under stress.
Advanced purification uses ozone, carbon, membranes, reverse osmosis, and UV light to produce high-quality water.
San Diego has even branded the purified water as “Pure Pink,” seeking to set a bold new standard for water recycling nationwide.
