People know about rivers, lakes, and oceans — but what about aquifers?
In the latest episode of Water Street Questions, we hit the streets to ask, “What is an aquifer?” and got a mix of puzzled looks, guesses about plants, and a few people who nailed it as “something about water underground.”
Only one person really got it right: “like a natural underground reservoir of water.”
It was a reminder that we can all do more education about groundwater and aquifers — a critical source of drinking water across the country.
These conversations highlight why raising awareness matters and inspire curiosity about the invisible water systems that sustain us all.
