Creating a common language for corporate water reporting isn't just about publishing a new standard. It's about earning buy-in from the investors, communities, NGOs, and businesses that will ultimately decide whether it becomes meaningful—or simply another document on the shelf.

Alexis Morgan of WWF says that's why the Water Scopes initiative is being built through collaboration. Leading companies, investors, and other stakeholders are helping shape the framework so they can hold one another accountable, distinguish meaningful action from surface-level reporting, and drive real improvements in corporate water stewardship.
