I’m on a rock in the middle of Boulder Creek as snowmelt from the Rocky Mountains rushes past me.
This week I’m traveling across Colorado filming 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐈𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐞𝐬, a new waterloop and WaterNow series exploring how communities are advancing water conservation. I’m visiting a dozen communities to document strategies around landscaping, funding, policy, and communication.
My visit comes as the state emerges from a historically low snowpack year, further stressing water resources.
One of the things I’m already enjoying is seeing how each community has its own wrinkle on how its expanding conservation.
The series begins rolling out this summer, followed by an in-person event in Denver this October focused on lessons learned and the future of conservation as supply.
Thanks to the Colorado Water Conservation Board for the grant supporting this project and to PCL Construction and Norris Design for being early sponsors!
